Mrs Balbir Singh was a revered Indian cookery writer and teacher. Born in 1912 in the Punjab, her lengthy career included cooking and homemaking classes in New Delhi, appearances on Indian TV and the publication of her phenomenally popular, award-winning 1961 book, Mrs Balbir Singh’s Indian Cookery.
